The crown of the Exiles should have been Devver's from birth. He could blame the Veraldi traitors who had banished their brethren to the cursed Mevrimel Mountains. He could blame the dark nature of the mountains themselves. But it was Devver who’d failed, and Devver who had lost his title at the age of five.
Now the king is offering forgiveness, and Devver doesn’t care why. To win back the crown, he will overlook every secret. Ignore every lie. Make every sacrifice. After all, he’s wagered his own life against victory more than once. What could be worth more than that?

WHAT DO YOU READ FOR PLEASURE?
In my current season of life, my time for personal reading is very limited, and to be honest, I've been reading the same series over and over again for the past 3 years. Seriously. I can't get enough of Michael J. Sullivan's Riyria Chronicles and Riyria Revelations. When I get to the end, I wait a couple of days and then just start them over again.
WHAT IS YOUR E-READING DEVICE OF CHOICE?
I love my Kindle. I'm still using the Kindle Fire my mother-in-law gave me years ago. It's definitely out of date, but, hey, it still works!
DESCRIBE YOUR DESK.
Ha! Desk? Right now, I do all my writing when the kids are going to sleep or having quiet time after lunch, so usually that is on the couch, where I can attend to "emergencies" and make sure the kids aren't wandering the house.
WHEN YOU ARE NOT WRITING, HOW DO YOU SPEND YOUR TIME?
My kids and I spend a lot of time reading aloud, going for walks, working in the garden, and playing at the creek. It's the best!
